In the photo is the Asokwa Police Station, Kumasi in Ghana. The signage got my attention. Is the Police Station sharing their office space with Latex Foam Company, that they seemed to fight for attention on the signage too?
Your guess is as good as mine, Latex Foam decided to sponsor the signage of the police station and this is the price they paid for it. You could clearly see that the font of the Latex Foam Company on the signage even blinds us to that of the Police. A little Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) does not mean we can do things anyhow. This is a clear instance of abuse of CSR. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone who is not familiar with Asokwa mistook the Police Station for the showroom or offices of Latex Foam.
A lesson learnt, the price you pay when some people or corporation claims to do you a favor. I think this is nonsensical, it should not be allowed in instances like this. How much at all does it cost to donate a signage to the police without this prominent exhibition of the name of the one who did the gesture? It could simply have been a footnote in the signage.
My thoughts though…
